Flying designer dresses to a catwalk show in Greece
A French fashion house asked us to help transport dresses from their new collection to Greece for a catwalk show. The fragile garments were travelling upright in pallets that were too tall to be loaded onto a scheduled flight, so we needed to charter an aircraft that could hold the pallets without damaging the cargo.
With availability limited during the Covid-19 pandemic, it was a race against the clock to find a viable solution for this last-minute request and deliver the dresses in time.
Our Solution
Route: Paris > Athens
Aircraft: Boeing B737-400F
This was a complex charter with several logistical obstacles. We sourced a Boeing B737-400F that had capacity to ship the original number of pallets the client had requested, but following several changes to the packing list we were left uncertain whether all of the cargo could be loaded. The final packing list was confirmed just a few hours before the flight and included several boxes that weren’t stackable, but the handling agent managed to carefully load all of the fragile dresses onto the aircraft and they were delivered intact and on time.
