ROUTE: Zurich, Switzerland - Caracas, Venezuela
A grounded aircraft costs a business money every minute it’s inoperable, making our speed and expertise invaluable in AOG situations. When a defective engine cowling put an Airbus A330 out of action, the airline asked us to help fly a replacement part to Venezuela quickly and within budget.
SOLUTION
To avoid a four-day wait securing carrier permissions for a direct charter to Venezuela, we utilised our global presence and positioned a Boeing B747 to collect the cowling from Zurich and fly it to Florida. Our Miami office then arranged for the cargo to be transhipped on a part-chartered B767 with all the required paperwork onboard. This quick thinking saved our client days’ worth of time and almost AUD $90,000.

ROUTE: Dubai, United Arab Emirates - Port Louis, Mauritius
A major European airline needed a swift solution when their Boeing B767 burst two nose gear tyres during a heavy landing in stormy conditions in Mauritius. The only available spare tyres were in Dubai, so we stepped in to help transport the parts to the stranded aircraft.
SOLUTION
Realising a conventional cargo charter wasn’t the fastest solution, the client’s personal account manager in our London office worked with colleagues in Dubai to source a business jet that could be deployed in around two hours, while our Johannesburg team liaised with contacts at the Mauritian Civil Aviation Authority to secure traffic rights. Drawing on our global network in this way meant the aircraft tyres were delivered to local engineers in Mauritius just 12 hours after the client gave us the go-ahead.
