- Private luxury car transfers between Dubai and Oman
- 7 nights in a two-bedroom Retreat or the four-bedroom Private Reserve at Six Senses Zighy Bay
Destination: paradise
After a relaxed private flight to Dubai, you’ll travel on to Oman in a comfortable, air-conditioned chauffeur-driven car. The scenic journey will take you north east to the border, with wide open desert giving way to a lunar landscape of rocky hills. The home stretch is by far the most breath-taking though, as you wind your way down to the coast with the glittering bay stretched out below.
Make yourself at home
Perched on the eastern coast of the Musandam Peninsula, Six Senses Zighy Bay is carefully arranged in village style, with both the Retreats and the Reserve occupying secluded beachfront spots. The two-bedroom Beachfront Retreats offer a private garden with direct access to the beach, as well as an oversized infinity-edge pool and a personal in-villa spa, complete with a steam room. A mini gym is on hand for active types, while comfy loungers will call out to sun-worshippers.
A dining area with a well-equipped kitchen allows for intimate nights in and two balconies overlooking the bay are the perfect spot for an apéritif. The four-bedroom Beachfront Reserve offers the ultimate in Omani indulgence. Set apart from the rest of the resort, you’ll enjoy your own private beach and accommodation spread out over three buildings.
Each bedroom has its own bathroom, while two have private balconies too. As well as a 60-foot infinity pool and a personal spa suite, the Reserve has a gym, fitness and yoga studio and steam room for your exclusive use. A fully equipped kitchen is provided for in-villa meals cooked by private chefs and a wine cellar for adding the perfect accompaniment. After dinner, the cosy dining room can be transformed into a home cinema.
Relax, refresh and reconnect
Whether you choose to have treatments in your villa or at the main Six Senses Spa, you’ll be offered a holistic experience from in-house and visiting consultants. Indigenous plants, herbs and fruits – some grown on site – are expertly blended and used in signature treatments, while Thai, Indian, Balinese and hot stone massages are also available.
The main spa facilities include Arabian hammams, steam rooms and a sauna, and an ice cave and relaxation lounge are on hand to cool down in the heat of the day. A fitness instructor and yoga teacher are available every day for personalised workouts and wellness programs, including the option to start the day with sunrise yoga looking out over the sea.
Restaurants to suit every taste
If you can tear yourself away from your luxurious private pad, there’s no shortage of dining options to tempt your taste buds. From the Bedouin cooking of the Shua Shack and the Middle Eastern buffet at the Spice Market, to the freshly caught seafood of the Summer House and the light bits of the Zighy Bar, you’ll always find something tasty to try.
For the ultimate fine dining experience, the resort’s award-winning mountain-top restaurant, Sense on the Edge, is an absolute must. Perched 962 feet about the beach, it’s the perfect spot to enjoy the sunrise or sunset, coffee or cocktail in hand. Of course, with private chefs on call to cook in your own kitchen, you can always opt for a quiet night in.
Get active (or don’t)
Every aspect of Six Senses Zighy Bay is designed with relaxation in mind. If, for you, that means getting active, there’s plenty to keep you amused. The hills surrounding the bay are ideal for mountain biking, hiking and rock climbing, and your hosts will be happy to arrange guides for all three. And when it’s time to come down, swap driving for paragliding to head back to the beach.
If the crystalline waters are calling, head offshore on a traditional dhow for fishing, snorkelling or diving, with the chance to explore the colourful reefs and diverse marine life of Oman. Back on dry land, visit a village, fort or farm, or just explore the rugged beauty of the Sabatyn plateau from the comfort of an air-conditioned 4x4. All sound a bit taxing? Just grab a book and flop by the pool.
Getting there
Guests will travel by private jet to Dubai where they’ll be met by a driver and taken by air-conditioned car to the Musandam peninsula in Oman.
