Specifically designed for the US coast-to-coast market, the Dassault Falcon 2000 is a luxurious private jet with a transcontinental range.

About this aircraft

• Introduced in 1989 and delivered in 1995, the Dassault Falcon 2000 is a slightly smaller development of the successful 900 tri-jet series.
• With a maximum range of about 3,500 miles, it can fly non-stop from New York to Los Angeles and London to Istanbul.
• Very few Falcon 2000s are equipped to fly 19 passengers. Most are configured to seat between eight and 12 people, especially for charter purposes.
• The baggage hold has space for 12 suitcases, allowing for at least one item of luggage per passenger. There’s also plenty of storage for hand luggage on board. 
• Production of the original Falcon 2000 ceased in the early 2000s with the release of the Falcon 2000EX, which was first delivered in 2003.

While released by Dassault as a super-midsize jet, the Falcon 2000 is more aligned with aircraft in the heavy jet class in terms of performance and charter price. The Falcon 2000 kickstarted a successful range that still continues today. Future variations and upgrades included the 2000EX (and EX EASy), 2000DX, 2000S, 2000LX and 2000XLS. All are popular charter options combining comfort, luxury and performance.

Interior design

The Falcon 2000’s spacious cabin is easy to move around during a flight. Falcons are known for their quiet interiors and the 2000 is no exception, with an in-cruise cabin volume of just 52 decibels – the equivalent of having a conversation at home or a running refrigerator.

Passengers are typically seated across two distinct cabin zones. The front usually features four large seats separated by a fold-away table and the aisle, while at the back there’s a three-seat divan and a four-seat dining area that converts into a double bed for night flights. There’s also a spacious enclosed lavatory and a sizable galley at the rear of the aircraft.

Inside, it features a Collins ProLine 4 fully integrated avionics suite with an Allied Signal GNS-XES flight management system, Collins TWR-850 weather radar and dual-channel integrated avionics processor system.

History

The Falcon 2000 was originally introduced as the Falcon X in 1989, but was renamed before entering service in 1995. It was Dassault’s first private jet to be designed using entirely digital technology, resulting in improved aerodynamics and simplified systems. Production of the aircraft ceased in the early 2000s with the release of the Falcon 2000EX, which was first delivered in 2003.

Dassault bolstered its fundamentals by developing exports of civil and military aircraft against a backdrop of increasingly fierce international competition.
